New Zealand’s borders reopened to international tourists on May 1 after two years of being restricted to non-citizens. The varied and dramatic landscapes of New Zealand provide a wonderful backdrop for a road trip, and viewing the country by automobile is the ideal introduction (or reintroduction) to the country.

Considering the opulence of these luxury stops, there are no clogged sinuses to be encountered, instead of a balance of meticulousness and welcoming, down-to-earth kindness. You’ll tour the coast of green, subtropical Northland, travel to a hidden island across the crystal-clear sea, and explore a valley beneath snow-capped mountains on this trip.
1. The Lodge at Kauri Cliff
The suites at this resort are nestled away amid the jungle, with natural birdsong filling the air. The rooms provide views of the award-winning 72-par golf course, the Pacific Ocean, with the Cavalli Islands in the backdrop. Even non-golfers will find enough to see3. and do, such as e-biking all-around property (you may have to move aside for grazing herds of sheep), relaxing at the spa, and dining at the in-house restaurants. Explore Pink Beach, a private beach on the property named after the hue of the shells that wash up on the shore. 2. Delamore Lodge

Cape Kidnappers is a popular golfing destination in New Zealand’s Hawke’s Bay region, which runs along the east coast of the North Island. Whether or not you play, the course is perched on wild, windy cliffs across the bay, and it’s good to take a golf cart tour. The amount of attention to detail in the accommodations is impressive: fresh flowers, pleasant personnel, and turn-down service are just a few of the thoughtful touches that will make you feel pampered and at ease. 4. Huka Lodge
Huka Lodge is associated with New Zealand’s luxury lodge sector. It’s on the shores of the Waikato River, in the heart of the North Island’s geothermal area. The lodge’s history extends back almost a century when it was used as a fisherman’s camp, and fly-fishing adventures on the Waikato River are still available. The rooms open into lush gardens, providing solitude and serenity to visitors. Breakfast and five-course dinner are included, and the chef mixes his European experience with local ingredients to create delectable dishes, which are complemented by a vast wine cellar.
5. Split Apple Retreat
Split Apple Retreat, in the Abel Tasman National Park, is an ideal place to recuperate after an indulgent vacation through the North Island. The chef will make your meals and send them to your villa for you to serve yourself, ensuring your privacy. You may explore the farm, bike around the property, or venture out on the water in a kayak to observe local animals including Hector’s Dolphins, one of the world’s tiniest dolphins.
