The latest resort attraction is none other than an onsite distillery, in addition to a multitude of activities, superb spas, and award-winning restaurants. Distillery hotels include tours of the facilities, information about the heritage and process of production, and, perhaps most importantly, the chance to sample craft spirits that you might not find in your local liquor shop.

Be it Pisco in Peru, mezcal and tequila in Mexico, or whiskey in Scotland, there are hotels all over the world — and even those closer to home — that cater to drinkers. We’ve compiled a list of ten of the top distillery hotels.

1. Casa Silencio, Oaxaca, México

Casa Silencio is a beautifully built boutique hotel that also houses one of Mezcal El Silencio’s three distilleries. The walls of this opulent 16-acre property are made of rammed earth; the ceilings were created with reclaimed Oaxacan wood; much of it is powered by solar energy, and they have instituted a no-waste policy.
